Pangea Foundation draws upon a rich tradition of creating innovative solutions to difficult public sector problems. Pangea Foundation’s SaaS solutions empower people and organizations to carry out the objectives of the following HUD grants:
- The Phase II Homeowner Grant Assistance Program (HAP II)
- Elderly and Family Resident Opportunities Self-Sufficiency Program (ROSS)
- Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS)
- Service Coordinator Grant for Elderly and Disabled Housing
Over 700 HUD-grant funded affordable and public housing facilities across America use Pangea Foundation’s nonprofit SaaS applications to:
- Cut administrative complexity and automate reporting
- Open up clear visibility into program strengths and weaknesses
- Improve public service delivery

- Bolster information security and achieve built-in disaster recovery

In 2003, Pangea Foundation was awarded a five-year grant by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) to develop a SaaS solution to measure performance metrics in mentoring programs serving youth with disabilities.

In 2000, Pangea Foundation was awarded a prestigious Technology Opportunities Program (TOP) grant to create innovative software solutions for nonprofits across America. The $270,000 Department of Commerce grant assisted in the creation of accessible Web-based software solutions for nonprofits serving people with disabilities.

In 2006, the U.S. Department of Education awarded the San Diego Unified School District a $2 million dollar Advanced Placement Incentive (API) grant. Pangea Foundation was the evaluation partner as well as the architect of the outcome tracking software used to implement, manage, and evaluate the grant.
In 2005, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools began funding Pangea Foundation's outcomes tracking software for mentoring to help measure and evaluate performance metrics for at-risk youth in mentoring programs.
Our SaaS solutions have also advanced community initiatives funded by the following state agencies:
- The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) (++)
The Phase II Homeowner Grant Assistance Program (HAP II) was designed by the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and approved by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide grant assistance to qualifying homeowners who suffered damage to their primary residence as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Enterprise Corporation of the Delta (ECD) was selected by MDA to provide counseling services for HAP II participants. In 2007, Pangea Foundation was selected by ECD to create a custom financial counseling software solution to facilitate the provision of comprehensive financial counseling services to assist families in developing a feasible recovery plan, assess their financial ability to accomplish their recovery goals, and assist them in executing their customized recovery plan.
- The California Technology and Trade Commission (++)
Pangea Foundation’s 2000 US Department of Commerce grant was matched in 2001 by a $300,000 state grant from The California Technology and Trade Commission. The grant, awarded in collaboration with CommerceNet, assisted in the creation of accessible Web-based software solutions for nonprofits in California serving people with disabilities.
Public Sector Honors and Awards
California Governor’s Award for Technology and Innovation: 2002
In 2002, Pangea Foundation received California’s prestigious Governor’s Award for Technology and Innovation by California Governor Gray Davis. The award honors non-profit organizations, public-private partnerships, educational institutions, individuals, and philanthropic programs that help foster California’s tech-based economy in exemplary and innovative ways.
President Clinton Announces Pangea Foundation Award: 2000
On September 21, 2000, in an unprecedented move, President Clinton announced the first of the Technology Opportunities Program’s (TOP) fiscal year 2000 grant awards to Pangea Foundation during his visit to Flint, Michigan.
