The "Key" to Fundraising
Predicting fundraising “silver bullets” is a bit like divining water—everyone knows
it can’t be done, and if you meet someone who is arrogant enough to claim they can
do it, it’s a sure sign that they’re just full of hot air.
Sometimes fundraising consultants would like you to believe that they can read tea
leaves, manipulate talismans, and actually tell you what the fundraising silver
bullet will be next week, next month, or next year. Yeah right, see that shiny stuff
spiraling down the drain? That’s “fundraising consultant” credibility. And it’s
been doing that for years now, but for some reason, nonprofits keep buying all that
voodoo. It must be nice to be wrong 80% of the time and still be invited back, right?
The reality is, nonprofit fundraising trends are too organic and move way too fast
for anyone to predict. By the time you hold your fundraising golf tournament, Black
Tie dinner, or indoor concert, you’re so far behind the times you might as well
be dancing the Jitterbug or sipping a cherry phosphate.
Let’s face it, there is no “silver bullet” fundraising strategy. There is no one
correct approach—no “one-size-fits-all” answer to nonprofit sustainability. The
best fundraising strategy is the same for people who buy stocks: diversify. It takes
a combination of fundraising events, and a messaging strategy that includes both
narrative vignettes to spotlight your impact, and quantitative data to prove it.
But, what if you could catch social impact lightning in a bottle? What if you could
light the fuse that would help your social impact explode into funder consciousness—without
having to submit a truckload of grant proposals?
Think about it this way: instead of waiting for the next big thing to spring forth
from the fickle morass of today’s philanthropic marketplace and then rushing to
hitch your wagon to it, why not turn the tables? Create the programs. Deliver the
impact. Make the difference. Why not ditch all the buzzwords, fads, and short-term
thinking and put your performance results directly into the hands of strategic philanthropists
and impact-driven funders looking for something to believe in? Why not transform
funders into investors? Give funders the opportunity to help build something that
accomplishes an amazing amount of good in the world. Give them the opportunity to
be the nonprofit equivalent of venture funders who made the right bet on Google™.
And every time you deliver results, it’s another opportunity to give funders recognition
for investing in a difference maker.
At Pangea Foundation, we help you tap the power of enterprise-class technologies

We help you plant the seeds that will get your program seen in exactly
the right places, by exactly the right funders, at exactly the right time. So instead
of trying to latch onto the next big thing, your program becomes the next
big thing. What happens next? Your program becomes more than just a program.
It becomes an investment for funders who want to make a difference—a valuable
thread woven into the fabric of people’s lives. And that never goes out of style.
Learn more about how Pangea Foundation can help you transform
funders into investors. We may not get you into the VIP at the Oscars. But we can
definitely help to get you on to the short list with the A-List.
