San Diego, California - August 29, 2008 - Pangea Foundation, one of America’s leading Software-as-a-Service providers to nonprofits, announced today that it has proactively deployed software to help facilitate the communication of disaster relief and recovery information to thousands of Gulf Coast residents whose lives are expected to be affected by Hurricane Gustav.
The custom software, made available by Pangea Foundation to 2-1-1 Louisiana on a pro-bono basis, will provide staff and volunteers of 2-1-1 Louisiana with updated relief information that can be communicated to residents of the Gulf Coast region who will be affected by the approaching hurricane.
The software takes content from a variety of areas, including road closures, evacuation routes, emergency shelters, repopulation zones, hospital information, and other vital community resources and makes this information available the very minute there is an update.
Finally, the software will track and report the nature of the 2-1-1 calls to give local leaders insight into the community’s most vital information needs.
