East Cleveland,
Ohio - February 21, 2007 - Pangea
Foundation today announced the launch of the Cuyahoga
County Resident Services Network (CCRSN) at the McGregor
Home in East Cleveland. More than 40 Service Coordinators,
along with both state and local officials attended
the event.
The CCRSN will work with more than 40 affordable housing
facilities for low income seniors by providing them
access to AASC Online, the nationally acclaimed Web-based
Software for Service Coordinators. AASC Online was
developed by Pangea Foundation in collaboration with
the American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC).
The goal of the McGregor Foundation grant is to increase
access to and use of community-based services and health
care in an effort to improve the overall quality of
life for elderly residents of Cuyahoga County.
Research has shown that Service Coordinators often
do not have the tools to effectively document, monitor
and evaluate programs and services for their residents.
AASC Online provides Service Coordinators an intuitive
Web application that improves service delivery and
facilitates data collection, outcomes measurement,
and resource sharing. The McGregor Foundation grant
will enable Pangea Foundation to provide AASC Online,
along with unlimited training and technical support
services, to the elderly Service Coordinator in Cuyahoga
County.
To date, over 600 public and affordable housing facilities
across America use AASC Online to improve service delivery
and measure outcomes. Yet, the Cuyahoga County Resident
Services Network will be the first county-wide effort
of its kind. The plan is for the effort to serve as
a model for enhancing effective service coordination
in communities across America.
