Jackson, Mississippi - February 22, 2007 - Pangea
Foundation today announced that it has been selected
by Enterprise Corporation of the Delta (ECD) to develop
a robust counseling software application that will
assist in the redevelopment of communities in Mississippi
that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The
effort is part of the Phase II Homeowner Grant Assistance
Program (HAP II).
HAP II has been designed by the Mississippi Development
Authority (MDA) and approved by the Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) to provide grant assistance
to qualifying homeowners who suffered damage to their
primary residence as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
ECD has been selected by MDA to provide counseling
services for HAP II participants.
“We are honored to contribute to the important
work now being done in Mississippi by ECD,” said
Kraig Kuipers, Chief Executive Officer of Pangea Foundation. “The
software we will develop for ECD will facilitate the
process of bringing the victims of Hurricane Katrina
to recovery.”
The Pangea Foundation software will help ECD provide
counseling services intended to help families achieve
their recovery goals. Each family will be assigned
a Professional Counselor who will work with them to
identify their options and develop a feasible recovery
plan, assess their financial ability to accomplish
their recovery goals, and assist them in executing
their customized recovery plan.
