San Diego, California – March 28,
1998 – Pangea Foundation today
announced that it will partner with the San Diego
Supercomputer Center (SDSC) in an effort to make
Web applications more accessible to nonprofit
organizations.
“Nonprofit organizations will greatly benefit
from Web-based software applications,” says
Kristin Berry, Founder and Executive Director
of Pangea Foundation. “The Web-based model,
hosted at the San Diego Supercomputer Center,
enables nonprofits with limited budgets to leverage
advanced data systems without having to invest
in major technology infrastructure. The San Diego
Supercomputer Center will ensure that our Web
applications are hosted in a secure, state-of-the-art
environment.”
The San Diego Supercomputer will provide Web
hosting and technical support services to Pangea
Foundation. Funding for these services has been
provided by the National Science Foundation through
the National Partnership for Advanced Computational
Infrastructure (NPACI) and other federal agencies,
the State and the University of California, and
private organizations.
About Pangea Foundation
Pangea Foundation was created with one goal in
mind: To bring state-of-the-art technology to
community organizations. These groups are historically
among the last to receive breakthrough technologies.
Our goal is to change that. Since its inception
in 1996, Pangea Foundation has been developing
solutions that ensure all segments of the community
enjoy the vast benefits of technology, particularly
those underserved by traditional institutions.
We work closely with community organizations to
implement technology solutions that strengthen
their efforts to serve their communities. For
